Images from a 9/2010 trip to Rwanda.  We repeated a visit from 2004 and spent two days hiking into the Virunga mountains of Volcanoes National Park to view two gorilla families:  the Hirwa and Sabinyo groups.  The Sabinyo group is led by the silverback Guhonda, reputed to be the largest silverback in the world.

As in 2004, the guides reported that there are only 700 mountain gorillas alive in the world.  They share the part of the Virunga mountains in which the borders of Rwanda, Uganda and the Congo intersect.

Here are my first selections.  I will add more color and video as I get time to edit.
